ICT-INEX Consortium met for the second time - this time in Vienna, Austria. The Plenary Meeting was hosted by one of project's Partners, 3s research laboratory, in its premises for two days - 17th &18th May.
The meeting focused predominantly at discussing the progress in analyzing the State of the Art in each of project's areas and taking the next steps. Partners discussed the methods of reaching the stakeholders as well as the educational areas to be targeted during the pilot trainings. As agreed, the competence profile of a future professional driver will differ from the current one, due to progress in vehicle automation and changes in economy known as Fourth Industrial Revolution. The results of ICT-INEX will address these changes in order to provide the most suitable outcomes.
During the meeting project Partners had also a chance to network with the members of other European projects focusing at the area of professional driver training. TTS presented the aims and preliminary findings of the Skillful project (www.skillfulproject.eu) which they are a member of, while 3s representative discusses the Future DRV project (www.project-futuredrv.eu)
As the project has already resulted with its first outcomes, a report on the State-of-the-Art of the implementation & integration of innovative ICT-based driver training with other training methods used in the training of professional driver candidates was presented to the Partners. Its findings show different socio-economic situation of project's target groups in Partner countries and therefore reveal a need for developing national policy plans. It also presents the need for establishing more bridges between the scientific environment and training providers. The deliverable is going to be released and distributed among the stakeholders in the following days.
